Discover the rich and fascinating history of the Jewish community in Prague by taking a walking tour of the Jewish municipal area, a unique part of Central Europe that remarkably survived the Holocaust. You'll begin by exploring the Old Town Cemetery, where you'll discover the graves of prominent Jewish figures, and learn about the symbolism and customs of Jewish burials. This tour is without entrances. If you would like to enjoy interior visit of synagogues, please see informations about them:

Spanish Synagogue, with its magnificent interior and stunning stained glass windows, and the Old-New Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Europe still in use. You'll also learn about the fascinating history of the Jewish Ghetto and the hardships that the Jewish community faced during the Nazi occupation.

As you continue your walk through Maisel Street, you'll come across the monument of Franz Kafka, a towering 3.75-meter-high sculpture weighing 800 kg, which is situated between the Spanish Synagogue and Gothic Church St. Esprit on Dusní Street. The sculpture consists of two figures: the lower, massive figure is a hollow suit (jacket and trousers), and on its shoulders sits Franz Kafka himself. The memorial is inspired by Kafka's short story Description of a Struggle, and is a must-see for literature enthusiasts.

Do you know that The Jerusalem Synagogue is the youngest synagogue in Prague and one of the most beautiful synagogues in the Czech Republic. It was built in the Moorish-Secession style in 1905-1906. Its interior is unique especially for its colourfull and ornamental decoration.

Overall, this walking tour of the Jewish municipal area in Prague is a must-do for anyone interested in Jewish history, architecture, or culture, and is an unforgettable way to experience the city's rich and diverse heritage.
